About the survey

The Global EV Driver Survey is conducted by the Global EV Alliance (GEVA), a network of EV Drviers' Associations from around the world.

The survey results comprise a database of responses from thousands of EV drivers, offering both global aggregates and country-level insights.

Respondents:

2024: 23 254 EV drivers from 19 countries

2025: 27 543 EV drivers from 30 countries.

The Global EV Driver Survey is conducted by the Global EV Alliance, powered by EV associations, volunteers, and generous support from the ClimateWorks Foundation and the Drive Electric Campaign.

Data collection

How the survey is conducted:

The survey is done annually, with a two month data collection period in september and october. The first year of the survey was in 2024.

The key distributors of the online survey form to the EV drivers in each country are national or local EV Associations, volunteers and enthusiasts.

For a country to be included in the survey, a benchmark of minimum 100 individual EV Drivers from a country has been set.

Methodology and weighting of the numbers

The national results are merely an average of the responses from all the respondents from each country.

The global results however are weighted. To most accurately reflect the views of EV drivers around the world, the results have been weighted based on each country’s share of the total EV fleet.

For example, results from the United States are weighted up due to their large share of EVs compared to the rest of the world, while results from Sweden are weighted down, because they represent a smaller share of the total world fleet.
